Come join us for some competitive and adventurous snowshoe racing, Wyoming style. All races start and finish from the Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area main lodge with one of the most festive snowshoe finish lines in the nation!   The Snowy Range has its name for a reason, so let’s have some fun in all of this snow!

 5K and 10K race options

All races start and finish at the Snowy Range Ski Area main lodge, where a “World Cup” style atmosphere awaits.  Spectators are encouraged to participate in the festivities!  Bring people, bring noise!!!  Discounted downhill lift tickets will be available to racers and racer families.

5K

  • Open to everyone, the 5K will act as the Wyoming State 5K Snowshoe Championship and a USSSA Junior National Championship Qualifier (To qualify for the national championship races, participants in this race must be under 20 years of age and current members of the USSSA at the time of race start.  See the USSSA section for more information.)
  • Race registration/check-in – 8:45-9:45am. 
  • Race starts from the main lodge at 10:00am
  • Moderately rolling terrain will be a mixture of groomed, semi-groomed and single-track terrain.
  • $20 early registration (through Oct 31), $25 registration (Nov 1 through Jan 30), $35 race day registration  

10K

  • Open to everyone, the 10K will act as the Wyoming State 10K Snowshoe Championship and a USSSA National Championship Qualifier (To qualify for the national championship races, participants must be 20 years of age or older and current members of the USSSA at the time of race start.  See the USSSA section for more information.)
  • Race registration/check-in – 8:45-9:45am. 
  • Race starts from the main lodge at 10:00am
  • Moderately rolling terrain will be a mixture of groomed, semi-groomed and single-track terrain.
  • The course is two laps of the 5K course, returning to the lodge in the middle of the race for aid station support and spectator viewing. 
  • $25 early registration (through Oct 31), $30 registration (Nov 1 through Jan 30), $40 race day registration

 

General Rules:

  • Races are open to everyone, but to qualify for the national championship races, participants must be current members of the USSSA prior to race start.  Membership can be completed online, or in-person at race check-in.  Go to the USSSA website for more information: http://www.snowshoeracing.com/
  • Snowshoes for all races must be a minimum size of 7”x20” and at least 120 sq. inches of functional surface area.   USSSA racers, read this: http://www.snowshoeracing.com/legal_size.htm
  • All racers must stay on the course.  Anyone who wants to drop from the race must do so at an aid station.  Make sure to alert a race official of your drop.  We don’t want to be searching through snow drifts for you all night.
  • No littering.  Deposit trash ONLY in trash containers at aid stations or the start/finish area.
  • The race may be rescheduled due to safety and weather considerations. There will be no refunds unless the race cannot be rescheduled. Changes will be posted on the race website. Please check the site for last minute changes, as race organizers will be unable to contact racers individually.
